Video: Residents tidy city before Fiesta

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) Hundreds of Albuquerque residents rolled up their sleeves Saturday for the "Company's Coming, So Let's Clean Albuquerque Up" initiative. Earlier this week, Mayor Richard J. Berry asked all Albuquerque residents and business owners to clean up in preparation for the upcoming Balloon Fiesta. The international event attracts tens of thousands to the Duke City. More than 300 volunteers and city employees spread out around the city Saturday to clean up various parts. One volunteer hoped a clean city will bring tourists more than once a year. "Seing that we have a great city a great town and just seeing that it is great and beautiful you know maybe they will come back for other reasons besides Balloon Fiesta," Lynn Kyle said. Free trash bags and gloves were given to volunteers at the cleanup. Officials said the Balloon Fiesta bring in about $165 million to the local economy every year.
